A campaign is underway with signage, increased enforcement, and fines – to maintain a pleasant environment for all of us.
These days, the municipality's Shefa Administration is launching a municipal campaign to raise awareness of the obligation to pickup after dog poop, under the caption: "Didn’t you pick it up?" – a short sentence that is a clear statement about the disturbing phenomenon that is known throughout the country, especially in public areas and parks.
The campaign appears on designated signage in public spaces, alongside publications on the municipality's social media networks – Facebook and Instagram – emphasizing that failure to pick up one’s dog poop is an offense, which carries a fine of 475 shekels.
At the same time, the Shefa Administration is conducting increased enforcement in the field, with joint tours by the municipal inspectorate and the municipal veterinary service. The inspectors operate in public gardens, parks and other sensitive areas – both against dog owners who do not pick up their dogs’ feces, and against dog owners who walk their dogs without a leash – an issue in which the enforcement authority has expanded last month to include municipal inspectors, after previously being exercised only by the municipal veterinarian.
The municipality calls on all dog owners to act responsibly, maintain the cleanliness of public spaces, and be partners in maintaining a pleasant, clean and respectful living environment for everyone.
