Please note there is new signage around the city for drivers with these facilities. The municipal Traffic Committee recently approved marked parking spaces for disabled drivers with signage intended solely for vehicles that have a hoist or lift facility, with an emphasis on central locations or near public institutions. The parking spaces are marked in accordance with directives of the Infrastructure Planning and Development Administration in the Ministry of Transportation.
Currently, five parking spaces have been marked for vehicles with a lift or hoist facility in several locations in the city – Pata’ei Modiin train station parking lot, parking on Sderot Hashmonaim Street near the Central Train Station, the Re'ut Water Park and Beit Yad Labanim.
In the near future, three additional parking spaces will be marked with this sign – near the city hall, and in the parking lot at the municipal pool on Emek Zevulun Street.
The municipality stated that increased enforcement is taking place, and that the fine for parking a vehicle without a hoist or lift facility will be one thousand shekels in accordance with the law. It should be noted that even a vehicle with a disabled permit cannot park in these parking lots if it does not have a lifting device or hoist.
