On Thursday, 13.3.25, ” THE WALL” - the largest, most advanced and only Olympic climbing wall complex of its kind in Israel - opened in Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut.
This is the first complex in the country that meets all international standards for Olympic climbing, and is a professional, community and experiential sports center that combines professional athletes, climbing enthusiasts, children, families and city residents.
Already on the opening day, the Israeli Championship in Adult Lead Climbing for 2025 was inaugurated, in a festive atmosphere and in the presence of top-class climbers. Yuval Shmala and Ayala Kerem were crowned Israeli champions. Ada Carlsbron, a resident of Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut, one of the leading climbers in Israel, won third place and brought much honor to the city.
In addition, the Israel Paralympic Championship was held, which featured an exciting presence of inspiring male and female climbers: Mor Sapir in the men's category and Moshka Cohen in the women's category were the winning medalists in the first competition held in the city.
Mayor Haim Bibas, who attended the competition and inaugurated the complex: "The largest international Olympic climbing complex in Israel that we have established here in the city is much more than just another sports attraction - it is a symbol of a strong, young and developing city that continues to push itself forward in all areas.

The complex, located next to the Recreation and Sports Park, was designed as a sports, leisure and community center for residents of Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut and the surrounding area, and will be a home for hosting national and international competitions. The complex includes 17-meter-high transport walls, speed walls, boulder walls of all types, spray walls, campus boards, climbing walls for children, and a large viewing area for gatherings and events. In addition, there is a cafeteria, locker rooms, a climbing equipment store, and entry with subscription and single-entry options.
Throughout the opening day, enthusiastic responses were heard from the climbers who competed in the complex, who noted the high standard of the walls, the advanced facilities, and the diverse options for professional training. According to the athletes, the excitement about the new complex was evident and it seems that THE WALL is going to be the home of the climbing community that has been growing in recent years.

On Wednesday, the best climbers celebrated here at the Israel Championship produced by the Israel Climbing Association. The international complex will be a home for training and competitions for professional climbers. This is the most modern complex that currently exists in Israel. Our goal is for groups and schools from Israel and the world to come to train, along with other classes and events."
In the coming days, registration for classes, workshops, personal training, competitions, and even various activities such as birthdays and team building days will open - a sporting and safe experience at the highest level.
