New bus lines in Moreshet

09/02/2025 י"א שבט תשפ"ה

Starting Friday 14.2.25, bus lines 52 and 59 in the Moreshet neighborhood will be expanded during rush hours. This was agreed upon after inquiries and meetings held y the Mayor with the Minister of Transportation and the Director General of the Ministry ,of Transportation.

Line 52, a relatively new line that began operating after the establishment of the Moreshet neighborhood, will undergo an important upgrade, after inquiries and meetings held by Mayor Haim Bibas, with Minister of Transportation Miri Regev and the Director General of the Ministry of Transportation.

As part of the upgrade of the line's activity for the residents of the neighborhood, it will begin operating in a two-way format (in contrast to the current situation where it operates in only one direction). In both directions, the Pata-ey Modi'in train station will also be included, with both directions continuing to pass through transportation square. Good news for workers outside the city and those who plan to travel by train.

In addition, the number of trips on the line will be doubled during peak hours. Instead of two trips per hour, there will be four trips in each direction.

Line 59 will also be upgraded by increasing the number of trips during peak hours. The line will be increased with 3 daily trips, Sunday-Thursday.

Haim Bibas, Mayor: "Improving the public transportation system in the
city is a key goal that we have set to address, and we continue to work consistently with the Ministry of Transportation to upgrade services for residents. The expansion of the operation of lines 52 and 59 is a direct result of our joint work with the Ministry of Transportation and the Kavim company, with the aim of providing a better response to the needs of residents, especially during rush hours. We continue to work constantly to improve public transportation and create solutions that will increase accessibility and comfort for all residents."

Or Greenfeld, Deputy Mayor and Transportation Portfolio Holder: "The public transportation lines to and from the Moreshet neighborhood are one of the important goals we have marked in the great and future process of improving public transportation in the city. Increasing the frequency and extending the route will allow greater accessibility than the current situation to the city center, to the network of lines that reach educational institutions, train stations and the Einav Center. In addition, the central line 59 will improve accessibility to central hubs and educational institutions in the city. Unfortunately, the public transportation service has not been in line with the number of residents in our city for several years. It is important for me to note that the mayor, myself as deputy mayor and portfolio holder, the public transportation department and all the municipal authorities are working every day to improve the situation vis-à-vis the Ministry of Transportation, both in the short term and in the long term in a plan to expand and adapt the public transportation network to one that suits our city - in frequency, accessibility to central hubs and reliability."
