IDF data for 2023 was published on 3.12.24, according to which, Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut ranks first in the rate of military reserve conscripts, among the 50 largest cities in the country.
Since the outbreak of the Iron Swords war, a large segment of the city has been called up for reserve duty in Gaza, the northern border and Judea and Samaria, sometimes for extended periods, and even for hundreds of days.
On the home front, families of reserve service members are going through a complex and difficult period, and the municipality has launched a municipal program of respite and leisure activities, including, among other things, opening activity spaces for children operated by volunteer youth, and benefits in businesses such as Hot Cinema, to make things as easy as possible and provide a supportive shoulder.
In addition, several months ago, the municipality launched a municipal campaign that raises awareness of the difficulties experienced by families of reserve service members, calling for mutual support from neighbors and city residents, to come and help with daily tasks, or simply ask about their well-being.
On 11.12.24, an activity area for children of reserve service members will be run by youth volunteers "Noar HaKafé" between 16:30 and 19:00, at Ginat Dotan 29, admission is free.
On 17.12,24, the Youth Department will organize a musical-comedic show for wives of reservists and those in permanent miltary service - "Holding the Home Front", to be held in Einan Hall in Azrieli Mall at 20:00. To register for the event, click here
Throughout the month of December, Hot Cinema in Modiin offers a discount to families of reservists, tickets cost 15 shekels for all films currently being screened. A valid reservist's certificate must be presented at the cinema box office.
