We were informed with great sadness of the death of city resident Captain Eitan Oster, a commander in the Egoz commando unit, who was killed during the fighting in Lebanon.
Eitan, a graduate of Amit High School, is survived by his parents and seven brothers and sisters.
His funeral was held on the eve of Rosh HaShanah at 15:30 in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl.
Residents of Modi'in Maccabim Reut formed a chain of flags lining the streets to accompany the family from their home in Reut.
