As in every year, an evening was held to honor the special families in the city of Modi'in Maccabim Reut, for their contribution to community resilience and inclusion. The evening opened with an exciting performance by the city band "Kolot Shlovim".

The evening opened with an exciting performance by the integrated city band "Kolot Shluvim" led by Lev Loftus, and continued with a stand-up show by Chief Smile Officer, Guy Hochman, who was very impressed by the special partnership in the city.
The event, held with the participation of the community of parents, professionals and social leaders, emphasized the importance of partnership between families with special needs and the entire community.
The founder of this event in 2019, Amiad Taub, Deputy mayor and Social Services portfolio holder. He said: "We have had the positive immigration of 100-140 special families to the city every year, because this is our pride - being a flagship of how proper social integration is carried out in the State of Israel" Taub added, "These days we are working on a municipal master plan that deals with creating a continuum of municipal services from housing and employment to education, leisure and inclusion, and also talks about an approach where we see the presence and not the absence of each person with a disability, and we understand that a person who faces a disability develops other senses, abilities and advantages, that if society knows how to recognize and cherish, it will gain a lot."
Marina Sadeh, Head of the Social Services Division: "Like every year, the Social Services Division cherishes the special families that we accompany throughout the year. We are happy to provide a break from the complex and busy daily life for the families. The social workers in the field of special needs who know the families and give them assistance also met them on this day and will of course continue to accompany them in whatever is required."
Attorney Anat Nahor, head of the special needs team spoke about the department's commitment to the community of special needs parents in the city.
Attorney Lily Gordon Shraga, Chair of the leadership of Special parents, spoke about the fruitful partnership between the parents’ representatives and the authority and future plans.
The speakers wished to thank the special needs counselors and staff, Sigal Hadad, project manager, who together with Yael Steinmetz, director of the family center, produced the event, and all the parents and special families at Modi'in Maccabim Reut.
