Prepared for any scenario
As of today, Sunday 22.9.24, there is no change in the Home Front Command’s instructions to residents.
Almost a year has passed since the beginning of the war, and in the shadow of the escalation in the north, the municipality, led by Mayor Haim Bibas, conducts frequent situation assessments in close cooperation with the Home Front Command.
Although there is no change in guidelines it is important to stay updated on the familiar and life-saving instructions in an emergency routine. Accordingly, the municipality emphasizes that the city of Modi'in Maccabim Reut is considered one of the safest cities in the country.
There is a high level of preparedness and competence in the municipality, in all its divisions, for transitioning from routine to an emergency if required. The security and emergency department in the municipality has increased patrols carried out in the area by security vehicles and the municipal police. Important training exercises are carried out by the municipal search and rescue unit and the medical emergency department.
In educational institutions, drills for entering protected spaces are performed frequently, and educational staff are prepared and ready for any scenario.
The municipality reminds residents that they must make sure that their protected space is ready and prepared for a safe stay if necessary. The public shelters in Reut and Maccabim are open and prepared for the public.
If an alarm sounds, you must enter the protected space within 90 seconds (one and a half minutes) and stay there for ten minutes. If you are outside, an underground parking lot or mezzanine in the building can be used as a protected space. If you are in a car, get out of the vehicle and get as far away as possible. Lie on the ground with your hands covering your head.
Other important instructions are: to make sure that there is equipment in the protected space that includes emergency lighting, dry food, bottles of water (amount depending on the family size) radio batteries and portable chargers. Please enter the digital booklet to follow all instructions in various emergency situations
Equally important, during this period - there are attempts of cyberwarfare through links or fake messages that create panic and stress. You should avoid sending unverified messages, and stick to the official channels only, such as the Home Front Command website, the municipality's websites and pages on social networks, and of course the official national websites.
