The Center for the Exercise of Rights in the Department of Social Services in the municipality is currently recruiting senior citizens who wish to integrate as volunteers and activists in the field of the excersing of rights. The training exposure meeting will take place on Sunday 15.9.24 at 10am.
The aim is to expand the center's areas of activity by identifying needs and issues that must be addressed in the individual context of exercising rights.
The center was established to help city residents understand what their rights are in the bureaucratic tangle vis-à-vis various entities such as National Insurance and other government offices on a variety of issues such as health, employment, life events and more, and helps them exercise them. For example, when filling out forms for the purpose of receiving disability benefits, victims of hostilities, unemployment and more. The center's staff includes a social worker and volunteers.
The suitable candidates will participate in a five-session training course, during which they will receive tools and skills for the planning and implementation of social projects in the field of the exercise of rights. The meetings will be held under the guidance of Dr. Zahra Cohen, an expert on the elderly and manager of "Zehav Chaim", a program she led in hospitals nationwide, and Tamar Barnea, an attorney at the Center for Rights Advocacy.
Amiad Taub, Deputy mayor and holder of the social services portfolio: "Exercising of rights is an essential civil and municipal foundation that enables both equal rights and a response to the needs of unique populations in order to improve personal and economic conditions. The recruitment of our senior citizens for them to voluntarily give their experience and the knowledge they have gained to these populations constitutes a fundamental pillar of the wing's activity in which all parties contribute.''
The exposure meeting and registration for further training will be held on September 15, 2024 at 10:00 am, at the Multidisciplinary Center at Emek Dotan 49.
At this meeting, the lecture "All Rights Reserved" will be delivered - an important lecture for anyone interested in health issues and exercising rights in Israel, for themselves and for others.
