Scholarships for outstanding athletes 2024

Important news for sportsmen and sportswomen who live in the city.

Registration has opened for submitting applications for scholarships for outstanding athletes and outstanding athletes with disabilities. The scholarship is intended to encourage and assist athletes in financing costs, and to advance their training and achievements in their area of expertise.

The Municipality of Modi'in Maccabim Reut holds sport in high regard. Along with municipal investment in this area, the city also provides ongoing support to sports organizations according to a procedure which is done by a support committee.

The scholarship, in the amount of up to NIS 5,000, is intended to encourage and assist athletes in financing the costs of participating in competitions in Israel and abroad, participating in courses or professional training, special training, and purchasing equipment.

Individual athletes or teams will be able to apply for a scholarship provided they meet the criteria detailed on the municipality's website and include, among other things, priority for athletes who train and represent the sports association in the city, priority will be given to sports areas that received priority within the local master plan and more. At the same time, the municipality publishes scholarships for athletes with disabilities who train in regular and recognized frameworks associated with international sports organizations that hold international competitions, such as: Special Olympics, Virtus and אס"ח - the sports organization of the deaf in Israel.

Elad Shimonovich, Deputy mayor and holder of the sports portfolio: "The sports scholarships are an important and significant opportunity for the city to support its top athletes, especially in the individual sports - in the last Olympics we saw how important it is to have an honorable representation from the city. I invite the athletes in the city to apply and use this help to continue to advance in the world of sports."
