“Modiin experience” tours return for the summer vacation with a rich program led by the Hasmonean Heritage Museum. The program, located in nature sites surrounding the city, is an educational, fun and intriguing experience.
You will fall in love and connect with the beautiful places that wait to be discovered in all their glory, right here near home. All you need is to equip yourself with closed shoes, a hat and water, and set off.
The first tour will take place this week at Givat Ashon, the unique archaeological park in the Moreshet neighborhood, on Friday 21.6 at 5pm (for ages 5+) guided by Neta Brinet, of "Neta Travels".
We will discover the secrets of the Hasmonean hill and farm, hear fascinating stories, learn about the cache of coins discovered on the spot and displayed in the Hasmonean Heritage Museum, enjoy a view of the area and celebrate Shabbat together.
Meeting point is at the entrance to the site: in Waze: Hurvat Ashon, (חירבת אשון)at Haim Weitzman Street, Modi'in, Moreshet neighborhood (continue on foot to the entrance path to the hill).
For painting enthusiasts, there will be a painting and experimental workshop in nature with acrylic colors on canvas on Friday, June 28, 24 at 9am on Givat HaTitura, under the guidance of Dorit Kind Samara (for ages 16+). Meeting point at the entrance to the hill from Yigal Alon Street, corner of Klil Hahoresh.
A “seal workshop from nature” workshop for the whole family on Thursday 4.7.24 at 5:30pm in the ancient Hasmonean Synagogue under the guidance of Nitzan Shatrog from Beit Adama Yotseret.
In the workshop we will get to know the seals that were discovered on the site (displayed in the Hasmonean Heritage Museum) the role of the seals and the uniqueness of producing seals from natural materials.
We will create prints from leaves, grasses and materials we collect from nature. We will copy the texture of the leaves with ink and paint onto postcards using different techniques. (for age 5+). Meeting point in the parking lot on Reuven Street.
For nature lovers, a family trip on Saturday, July 6, at 5pm in Givat Broshim guided by Gali Benin (for ages 5+), meeting point at the entrance to Givat Broshim- at the parking lot at the top of the hill (arriving on the dirt road from the circle at the Yair Parag Road intersection / Menachem Begin Blvd./Reut entrance
Other future activities include picking tours, smartphone photography, bird watching, lanterns and a host of other activities and surprises at the heritage and nature sites in the city.
