Each year, on the eve of Independence Day, the municipality publishes the population register data, which are updated for the month of April 2024.

According to the data, 106,072 residents live in the city of whom 52,540 are men and 53,532 are women.

In terms of age segmentation, Modi'in Maccabim Reut is still considered one of the youngest cities in Israel, with the average age in the city being 34.1years. In addition, our city has highest life expectancy in Israel, with an average age of 87.1 years.

27,245 residents are aged between birth and 21years old. 22,472 residents are between the ages of 20 and 40. 28,523 residents are between the ages of 41 and 60. The age group of the city's senior citizens continues to grow, and currently numbers 14,856 residents aged 60 and over. In this context, it is also interesting to discover in terms of age segmentation in the city that there are 20 residents who are 100 years old or older. The oldest resident is a 107-year-old man.

And how many celebrated or will celebrate their 76th birthday in 2024 like the State of Israel? According to the data, 558 residents, congratulations!

Looking at the data according to the cities of origin from which the residents came, most of the residents migrated from Jerusalem, a figure that stars every year. In 2024, 203 residents arrived from Jerusalem. 92 residents migrated from the city of Tel Aviv-Jaffa, in 2024. This year, 9 residents arrived from Eilat, and from Kiryat Shmona, one. From Ramat Gan, 38 residents and Nes Ziona, 10.

Birth data in the city show that in the first three months of 2024, 249 babies were born in the city.

In 2023, there were 999 births. The neighborhood where the highest birth rate in 2023 is Kramim with 135 babies born this year. 103 babies were born in Nofim neighborhood and a similar number in HaNeviim. In Moreshet,101 babies were born during this time and 23 babies in Maccabim.

By segmenting the data on the number of residents by neighborhood, it is revealed that Kramim has the largest number of residents - 11,952 in total. After that, the Avnei Hen with 10,952 residents. In third place, HaMeginim with 9,593 residents.

And what about the city's younger neighbourhoods? Tsipporim, celebrating 7 years since occupancy has 3,372 residents, Nofim which was populated for the first time in the summer of 2020, has 5,504 residents. Moreshet which began to be populated about two years ago and will likely be the largest neighborhood in the city in the coming years, currently has 5,279 residents.

The data also revealed an interesting segmentation of ages by neighborhoods. The neighborhood with the youngest average age is Moreshet which stands at 25.4 years old. It is followed by Nofim, where the average age is 27. Close behind is Tsipporim with an average age of 28.4; and Moriah at 31.4. In contrast, senior citizens naturally live in the older neighborhoods, with the average age in Reut being 41.8 and Maccabim 43.1. Prachim is also a neighborhood with a relatively “high” average age of 39.8 years old.

By segmenting the countries of origin from which the city's residents immigrated to Israel, it appears that 2,734 immigrated from the former Soviet Union or Russia, 2,200 came from the USA, 597 came from Great Britain, 416 from Ukraine and 497 from France.

Want to find out more interesting details? The municipality has released, for the fourth year, the new statistical yearbook for 2023. The yearbook includes data mapping and scope of review for 50 demographic, economic and social issues, which describe life in the city and its neighborhoods in the past, present and future. The yearbook also contains tables, charts and maps that were visually designed as "heat maps" that distinguish between the neighborhoods and include physical and human characteristics of the city as a whole as well as by segmentation of neighborhoods.

Looking at the yearbook also reveals some interesting data such as the most common given names: Yuval and Amit. Other interesting data shows that there are 8,038 participants in youth movements and 83% of the residents define themselves as healthy.

In terms of garbage volume, the data shows that 1.3 kg of waste is thrown out per person per day in the city, 22% solid waste recycling rate and 94% average volume during the emptying of recycling containers. These data earned the city the recycling authority award for 2023, awarded to the municipality by Tamir Corporation.

Regarding transportation, about 97% of households in the city have at least one vehicle. The most popular vehicle in the city is Hyundai. It also shows that 7% of the city's residents have electric vehicles (not including leasing vehicles), a trend that is growing every year.

In terms of local businesses and purchasing power, survey data shows that 87% of residents shop at local businesses. There are also 1,777 active businesses operating in the city. Most of the businesses are food businesses, restaurants and cafes, offices, and professional services. In addition, from the data of the yearbook it appears that one of the five most popular businesses in the city is a barber shop. Another interesting statistic is that Modi'in Maccabim Reut has highest workforce in the country: the employment rate of the city's residents is 77.3%, of which 91% of the employees are salaried. Also, 22% of the workforce among the city's residents is engaged in high-tech and technology professions.

The yearbook concluded with interesting predictions regarding the future of Modi'in Maccabim Reut in terms of demographics, ages, trade and employment. An analysis of projected uses of land, based on the implementation of the master plan, indicates a significant increase in commerce and employment is expected with an additional area of 2,095 dunams. This figure is combined with the expected increase in the number of residents in the city, which indicates the crossing of the threshold of two hundred thousand residents and sixty-six thousand units in the implementation of the master plan for the coming decades, which includes 5,998 dunams of additional areas in the planning of the new neighborhoods. According to the forecast, the city is expected to mature in accordance with the age division in the country.

Yossi Avivi, holder of the Strategic Planning and Innovation portfolio: "In order to reach correct conclusions that will lead to informed decisions at the municipal level, they be based on a response to a real need. In order to analyze needs, reliable and high-quality information is needed, the more information there is, the better the ability to make decisions and prioritize tasks. The Strategic planning and Innovation division was established to answer this issue and to give tools to the managers of the various departments in the municipality.
In the department we collect information, refine it with professional tools and perform an analysis on it which is presented to the managers of the various departments in the municipality so that they can make decisions based on a proven need. Knowledge and reliable information are necessary tools for promoting projects in any large organization, and we at the municipality have taken this one step further by collecting information from residents through surveys and from the field through sensors. The processed information is submitted to the department managers so that they can provide better service to the residents."

Director of the Strategy, Research and Innovation Division, Dr. Ophir Lang, who edited the yearbook, noted that the data in the yearbook is the result of data collection and analysis submitted by representatives of the municipality and national authorities, all with the aim of identifying and characterizing in depth issues that are on the agenda. Studies and analyses, urban surveys and demographic forecasts, serve as a policy planning tool for the development of the city and to promote quality of life for the residents.
