Sgt.Major Yona Bezalel in Brief, a resident of our city, and brave fighter from the Duvdevan unit of the Commando Division, passed away this morning after a long struggle, since being critically wounded in a heroic battle on October 7th 2023 in Kfar Aza.
Yona fought for his life for 417 days, with the same strength and determination that characterized him so much as a fighter.
His parents, family and friends surrounded him with endless love, and along the way the city prayed for his recovery, together with the entire Jewish people.
Yona, a graduate of the Lapid Yeshiva High School, was a symbol of values, bravery and dedication, and leaves us with a legacy that resonates in our hearts.

The funeral of Yona Bezalel z"l will take place on Wednesday, November 27th at 1:30 PM on Mount Herzl.
